Frieda had performed long term care for her good friend Betty and in acknowledgement of that assistance Betty had promised to repay Frieda by providing for her from Betty’s estate upon her passing.
Frieda had been intending to rely upon that provision for her continued welfare once Betty passed away. Unfortunately, Betty was unable to update her will before her untimely passing and Betty’s family (who were the Executors) were not minded to honour Betty’s promise to provide for Freida. We managed to demonstrate that Frieda was rightly owed what was promised and obtain a court order to vary the Will so that Frieda was provided for.
